How has school been for most of you? I must admit, while I did miss school during the long break, I certainly don't now! XD So far uni's been a hell of a ride. I guess I'll miss it all when it ends again..

I know, we have a class group on fb. But sometimes, I'd rather sth more personal and 'exclusive' (well to me fb seems kinda overwhelmingly and vulnerably public nowadays, but hey, that's just my opinion :) )

Or maybe it's just the joy of reading every new post by slin/ting (most of the times the author is one of these 2 right) who've put in much effort in maintaining the alive-ness of this blog, which is (dare I say it??) kinda.. dead =)

Pls don't overreact though. It's just a word. I'm more than happy to say that I am putting in some effort for this dear blog. Not ruining it, I hope. BTW I love the new blogskin and layout and everything! They're really nice =D

HELLO! I haven't forgotten about this blog! :D So i'm back to do up another post :P woohoo! I can't believe we're all going into university already! I think if i tried to hide my identity i would fail miserably, so i shall not bother trying. heehee! (: just decided to come update the blog cause life here is ultimately boring. if i want to work i have to go to the immigrations something and apply for it, then go get a social security number, THEN i can start applying for jobs. its kinda annoying. :/ but that's enough about me.

Nostalgia

People come, people go. People stay, people leave. The future's not set in stone. Yet.

These few thoughts have been going through my head these past few days.. Have you all, dear hardworking students of 14/09, planned out your futures already? Time flies really fast. Just two years ago, we entered TJ and as luck would have it, became classmates of 14/09. At the risk of sounding cliche, in a blink of an eye, everyone's graduated and moved on, currently waiting for results, applying for various stuff, working, holidaying etc etc etc.

I still feel stuck though. Stuck in the past. I kinda miss wearing our pukey green TJ uniform :) I miss seeing you pple everyday in the usual classrooms (one of my clearest memories of TJ is the hot and stuffy green-coloured classroom opp the library blk where we camwhored during the entire econs lesson :D). I miss the laughter, the after lunch syndrome, the air-conditioned classrooms for J2s. LOL I actually miss school! (Or maybe it's cos I'm really too sick of work-.-)

Anyhow I hope we'll still keep in touch with one another, regardless of the distances and time differences. Okay I know abrupt ending, but hell I've never been good at conclusions.

hello fourteeners!

even though now we're separated by lands and seas, i'm sure we're all still close to each other deep within our hearts.

its been a wonderful two years of knowing the 24 of you. and like i tell almost everyone else i know, CG 14/09 is a class like no other. its really so rare to see a class that cares so much about each other, much less be a part of it. and just to add on to it, we've had such wonderful tutors as well!

really hope every single one of you have enjoyed being a part of this wonderful class as much as i have. and let the memories remain fresh within us till we grow old. :P just for the fun of it, lets have a class reunion on 14th September 2042! I book this date from all of you okay!!! HAHAHA. my dad said he had one. it was so funny looking through his pictures :P

I'm so happy to see that we all still have that spontaneity and stuff, willing to go out on a monday afternoon just to have lunch and celebrate the awesomeness that is our class. (:

Don't think so much about the results, for they have already been decided. Its over, and done. What we do need to do now is focus on how we can push our 'B's, 'C's, 'D's, 'E's, 'S's and 'U's up to the awesome 'A' grade when we go sit for the A level exams. So what if you didn't do well for prelims? It's not the end of the world. (: Stay optimistic. It'll be easier to work from there! I know i'll need the optimism to get through this week... The fourteenth of September has finally made its appearance again, and a year on, we're still as close as ever.

You guys have really shown me what it is to be in a class that really cares for each other, and i am so thankful that i've gotten to know such wonderful people! As we progress on towards the A'levels, lets keep this bond strong, and you know, at the end of it all, JC won't just remind you of all the time you spent prepping for A levels. It'll be more than that. The memories of an AWESOME CG14/09, and all the great times we've had together will come flooding sooner than you can remember what the seventh question in Math Paper 2 was about. [okay that was just random].

much thanks to everyone who keeps coming back here to keep our blog alive, and i'm sorry for the lack of updates and stuff. i guess losing my laptop made me lose so much more, eh?

anyway, just wanted to encourage everyone. things may seem to be really tough right now cause we have so much to deal with and seemingly so little time. but hey, we're smart people and we've got to keep believing that we're going to be able to pull through this ordeal just fine! keep up the good work and never give up hope.

and yup. remember! we must devote equal amounts of time to all subjects :D no matter how much you may hate a certain subject (for me, thats econs...) just spend some time reading, understanding, memorising... and together we'll achieve AWESOME grades for the A levels!

HEY PEOPLE!

I'm not sure about for the rest of you, but gosh, this term has passed too fast for me. I've barely blinked and half the term is already behind us.

Lots of things have been happening eh? Take good care of yourselves and don't catch the flu bug that's fluttering around nowadays. And for those who already have, take care and get well sooooon! (:

With the last few games and the final performances of our JC lives approaching, we're coming to the end of our PDP lives! [and at this i MUST say, i'm really glad our class has no birthdays in April and May cause all my money is going to performing arts cause i'm spending so much on concert tickets!] gosh, it wont be much longer till the A levels come and go and we're all split into different areas ): okay wait this is supposed to be a happy post!

okay people, BE ENCOURAGED.! I've yet to congradulate us on our fantastic MCT and PW results! We've done really well this period of time, with top for math, top for bio and second for chemistry (: great job peeps! keep up the good work [and all the extra effort for the H3 peeps!]

gosh, our MCTs are FINALLY over!

its time to celebrate, people. well, short lived celebration, at least, cause soon enough we'll be getting back our results and be cast back into desolation.

our class has become very different indeed, with the start of 2010... way more serious about our work and attitude towards studying. i'm very, very proud to be a part of our awesome CG 14/09. (: love all around!

okay, i think i've officially lost the skill to do blog posts. its kinda funny, my family is watching DanceWorks 2010 [recall TJ066's PW OP?] and one of the groups danced to that xi shua shua song that Wang Rui and Tseng-Yi performed during CNY carnival. almost everything reminds me of our awesome class.

Sian Lin reminded me that two days from now [18th March] a year ago, was our FIRST EVER CLASS OUTING. like cool right? i was kinda thinking of organising an outing on the 18th this year, but i guess no one will show cause MCTs are too soon. oh well!

We all had our fair share of work and commitment, which are about to take a turn for the worse with all the upcoming competitions and concerts.

Hello! I haven't blogged for a long time.

THE genius in our class has once again shocked me with his ingenuity, so I have decided to share his intelligence here.

Here's a GP question: Are Singapore citizens global citizens?
Apparently, THE genius insists that the answer is no and he has proved this with MATHEMATICS.

Here goes his theory.
If Singapore citizens = Global citizens,
Singapore = Global
Since Singapore is a proper subset of Asia,
Global is a proper subset of Asia as well.
It is impossible for the globe to be part of Asia, and hence, Singapore citizens are not global citizens.

I sank into a state of shock as I felt incredulous. What a weird theory this is!

HELLO MY AWESOME CLASSMATES!

school's been getting more exciting now that its more crowded and has more life. and yet, all at the same time, its become more stressful. being J2 isn't going to get any easier as the year passes, but hey, we're all going to be there for each other right?

as we celebrate friendship week, i just want all of you to know that i really really really appreciate having you people as friends for the past year. you know, its been almost exactly a year since we actually got to personally know each other? i really cant believe its only been one year. i feel as if i've known all of you for like forever! and having that feeling has just been so awesome.

i love our extremely bonded CG 14/09!!! THANK YOU EVERYONE, for making our class what it is. (: have a happy valentines day, friendship week, and chinese new year.

Quick update on class CIP.

Hi friends.

I was talking to my mum after coming home from our visit to Canossaville Children's Home yesterday. Apparently, there are going to be a few things we need to take note of when we go there.

Here's the shocker. They aren't going to be typical kindergarden / primary school kids. They won't be listening to us very well. [Yes, it might be worse than your PW pilot tests!] According to my mother, from her previous experiences, these kids come from broken families. And its not just families who cannot afford to keep their children, but families that have no choice but to put their kids in a Children's home because they are going to serve jail terms. So yup, let's all be mentally prepared for this alright? Mum suggests that we do not do large group briefings cause the kids will be rowdy, so we can split up into smaller groups for briefings [this also means that more of us have to actually know what is going on. We will probably need TJ068 to split up.]

A few other not-so-shocker things. We're not allowed to take photographs of them. [Ting is sad.] This is because some of the children there are under protection and we cannot afford to get them into trouble.Mr Wong said that we can take a group picture if absolutely necessary, but before we use these pictures we must show it to them and get them verified safe to use. None of the pictures can be posted onto social networking sites like facebook. They will have a supervisor present to help us take pictures at the correct angles, so our hardboard presentation for post-CIP thing isn't all lost!

We also cannot exchange contact information with them. So that means no exchange of handphone numbers, email addresses, etc. Oh, and we cannot give them candy and stuff.

Hahah. Okay, I'm going to talk about some more lighthearted stuff now! (:

Our class CIP will last 2.5 hours, from 1430 to 1700 on Monday, 8th February. Activities we will carry out include teaching origami and making of bookmarks. Due to clash in timing, we can only reach out to the kindergarden level, as well as primary 2 and 4. [The primary 1s and 3s are in the afternoon session in school!] So according to Mr Wong we will have about 30 kids to look after. He will also be asking if the primary 5 and 6 children want to join in the activities as well, and that will bump the number up to about 60.

The games have been cancelled because the children are too young to be running around in the midday sun, so to clock more hours of CIP, we can do a bit of cleaning up for them [also more to reflect on during post-CIP.! and i'm sure they won't mind us taking pictures of ourselves cleaning their stuff, right?]

Oh, my mum also suggested that we show them LOVE cause our CIP is near valentines day. Kids from broken homes need all the love we can afford to give, so lets be lovely people alright? I know our class is capable of this (: Think of some nice things we can do with them to show them we love them alright! WE CAN MAKE LONGLASTING IMPACT ON THEIR LIVESSS!

Mr Wong also mentioned that if we want to do long-term CIP, we can consider giving them tuition also, so yup. Can keep that in mind if you're interested. :D

Okay. That was a ridiculously long post about CIP. I guess i just needed to collect my thoughts before drafting the proposal to send to Mr Wong. Off i go, wish me luck!

So, the first week of school is over, and honestly, it wasn't as bad as i thought. Especially because of civics on wednesday, and the oh-so-cool bio lecture on friday. Lets just hope that the rest of the year will continue to be great for all of us as we face the new challenges.! Also do try out the quizzes on matrix2! We're gonna get that $50 thing for GNC. and of course, keep Mr Low proud of us. :D

And as for me, I just would like to take this special day to say a big thank you my awesomest friends, who have made my life here a truly meaningful one (:

Thank you for making me part of a big happy family. In 14/09 we do everything together, laugh or cry, PE games or forfeits, have lunch or even go toilet. And that's what makes us feel like the luckiest people on earth, to never be alone, to have someone to fall back on. Coz as they say "Even when you're not sure where you're heading, it helps to know that you're not going there alone" ...

Thank you for always care, always remember. I still save your numerous good-luck messages for Promos, for OP, the sweet wishes on my birthday. Maybe you didn't expect these words to mean this much to me, but for a girl living far away from home, they are like my mom's hug before I go to bed, very warm and empowering (:

And lastly .. well shall not thank you for persistently resiliently permanently relentlessly matchmaking me with Waygene (much against my will). But to think again, this is what makes my student's life memorable, unique and very ... um ... Han =D. You can just annoy me till I make the weirdest sound on Earth then we all laugh it off. It's all about having fun together so as long as it makes you happy 'torturing' me, I happily resign myself to that :P

And for all these, I'm very sure that even when many years later, I can still remember vividly how my life was in Singapore, in TJ and most blessedly in 14/09. It was full of ups and downs, but it's a life worth living for (:

hey everyone :D

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

just a quick update on the events our class has been having...

121209
A bunch of us [chang yi, lee chuang, sian lin, yee ling] headed out to Kallang Leisure Park to go iceskating! twas quite monotonous cause basically all you do is skate in circles... hahah but hey, it was fun seeing guys freeze up [yeah, finally i wasnt the only frozen one!] hahah. we had like super smelly gloves and painful shoes, but yup. i succeeded in teaching changyi to skate. :D well, sort of. hahah.

after that we headed to my place where we had dinner! li yin and han joined us there. i think it was pretty good food. and interesting for our dear friends who are used to having rice for dinner.

oh and while i was preparing dinner they were playing the monkey game! hahah. it was quite interesting to watch :D and yeah. basically that was about it.

i dont know much about this cause i didnt go, but i think they had dinner somewhere before heading to sianlin's place for the stayover! i heard they stayed up through the night playing mahjong or card games or something to that extent. hahah. anyone wants to fill this in?

Mind Cafe Outing
amanda, chang yi, li yin, sian lin, yee ling and i met at Tampines MRT station to have lunch at the food court before taking the bus over to Tampines SAFRA. We reached early, and then proceeded to wait for more people to turn up. However, they didnt, so we just went in and started playing.

We played Saboteur first. it was interesting, quite! hahah. At first i didnt really get the hang of the game, but then eventually things worked out. hahah, i never knew building roads could be so interesting!

After three rounds we proceeded to play Family Business [which, by the way, ISN'T about money.] its a pretty violent game. hahah. very very very scary. so yup. the girls teamed up against the guys and pushed them both out of the game so that we could peacefully end the game without killing too many people.

We then tried to play Cluedo, but we were all tired and couldn't really think, so we ended the game early and moved on. In the midst of this game, Wang Rui made an appearance for a very short while, and then left again.

Found the monkey game here, but this time it had very few monkeys, and a biased dice which kept showing green. hahah. After one round we did weird things like attempt to play pick-up-sticks, and random pictures and videos, before heading out of Mind Cafe.

We headed back to Tampines to find a place for dinner. Went up to this japanese restaurant that is very very nicely decorated, and waited for lee chuang there. After lee chuang made her appearance, we walked around the place only to find that the prices of the food was way over budget, so we headed out, and over to TM for pastamania. had food [with cheeeeeese], then headed home.

Christmas Eve! (:

amanda organised a christmas party at her place! was supposed to be 8 of them going [amanda, brenda, chang yi, daphne, lee chuang, li yin, sian lin, yee ling] but then i managed to leave my other appointment early to go over and meet them for dinner (:

before the party, amanda, lee chuang, li yin, sian lin and yee ling were at yee ling's place making the kebabs which she was to bring over to amanda's for the dinner. after meeting chang yi, they headed over to amanda's place. when i showed up, they were playing 6-way taidi. before long, daphne and brenda made their appearances and we started dinner!

there was heaps of food! and since we had difficulty finishing the food, we started playing the number game [pick a number from 1-100...] to make people eat more. hahah. it was fun and left us all feeling very very full! after dinner we took random pictures of people wearing christmas hats. oh and then they played mahjong while the rest of us watched 'together' on teevee. at around 10 when i was supposed to leave, we had the gift exchange, and then i ran away so i dont know what happened next. hahah. i feel so detached from our class gatherings recently.

anyway. if theres going to be a countdown party, remember to show up alright? [heh. i know i wont be able to make it, but ah well...]

CLASS CHALET!

Class chalet has just ended so I'll add on to Ting's post on the parts she missed out:D
SPOILER!!
This is gonna be a very LONG post, so proceed at your own risk!!
This post is mainly for those who want to know what they've missed out this chalet:D
Here goes!

DAY1
The first few - Ariel, WangRui, ChangYi, Joseph,SianLin, Waygene, WenKai and I - reached and did the check in procedures.
ChangYi, SianLin, Waygene and I then proceded on to shop for groceries at NTUC.
We were calculating and choosing the cheapest stuff (like the $0.90 matchsticks)
It was raining and we had to call WangRui to bring us the umbrellas to cross over to the chalet.

The rest + Edrea - Ariel were playing Monopoly in the room.
Ariel was reading her storybook.

Next, we had to go to Kembangan to collect the foodstuff.
I didn't want to go at first, but decided to follow ChangYi, SianLin,Waygene and YeeLing out after much consideration.
Shall not drone on on the details of how we got there and bought the food.
But I will mention that we took bus 17 back to the chalet, which took about 45 minutes. :D
My attemptes to sleep failed miserably as I was too engaged in the conversations around me.

Back in the chalet, we slacked in the room while waiting for the rest (+ LeeChuang, SwanSer, Erica) to start the fire.
Ting made her appearance after the fire was started.
All ate the pasta YeeLing made, while trying to keep the fire alive:D
Miss Sim and Mr Low showed up. :D
Daphne made her grand appearance ( ummm.. after a certain conspiracy?:D)
Camwhored with Daph and Ting in the room.
THE Han arrived:D
The 2 BBQ pits nearby were killing us with all their smoke from their lack of expertise in handling the fire:(

Planned and executed surprise for Nov babies!! (mainly it was meant for Yl cuz her bday was 1 day before.. Liyin and Dewi weren't there)
I served the cakes while some were playing with matchsticks bonfire, which I thought was pretty cool:D
Cleared up and went to bathe.

Ting, YeeLing and I used the public toilet while the rest queued up for the single toilet in the room.
The rest were playing "CONCENTRATION" in the room.
Apparently we 3 had missed out on a funny video (which will soon be posted in FB, not to worry XD)
Joined in the fun and watched WenKai, SianLin and LeeChuang do their forfeits.

Switched game to Bridge, Mahjong (cards) and Stacko.
Waygene got addicted to Mahjong._.'''
And how come YeeLing kept owning the game de?

People left and people stayed.
People slept and poeple stayed awake.
Some couldn't sleep, although they had to wake up early tmr.

DAY2
I felt hungry at 2am.
Gathered an army of hungry/bored warriors to go get food with me.
Basically, it was Erica, Edrea, SwanSer, Ting, YeeLing, ChangYi, SianLin, Waygene and me.
Cheers wasn't opened, so we "night-walked" the ooolooo path to Central's 7-11, led by YeeLing
It was an eye-opener for me because i never knew so many "no 3 no 4" peopel gathered at 3am at night, even though I've always heard about it.
There were also alot of police cars!!
There were still quite a few people at the coffeeshops at Central.
They basically belonged to the drunkards, ah peks, or "i got hungry so i came down to grab a bite" catergory.
We bought our cupnoodles/ drinks and walked back to the chalet, using the main road this time.

Back at the chalet(near 4am), some were already sleeping.
Some of us ate our noodles downstairs, to avoid dirtying/stinking up the room.
Once done, we played murderer till dunno what time.
Some slept lightly/ alot while some played bridge/TaiTi.
I slept for 1 hour plus, in the midst of LOADS OF NOISE:O
Han left for attachment and Erica left for home to recuperate.

Waited for our sleepyheads to wake up before heading to Mac for breakfast.
Went home to get LiYin's stuff and the white paper to be signed, accompanied by SianLin.
I received an "I love you" dare phone call from Joseph.
Both SianLin and I were guessing his turn would be next.
Less than 5 mins later, he received an "I love you" dare phone call from Ting.
Apparently, people back at the chalet were playing CONCENTRATION again. 0.O
So predictable right?:D

Went bowling next.
You people learn fast.
Auntie spirit!!LOLZZZ!!!:D
The games were really fun, with plenty of strikes and spares from our classmates:D
My right side of the body was aching severely after bowling though.

Headed back to the chalet.
Attempted to head to the beach to execute the Grand Plan.
It failed miserably, as it was pouring outside.
Daph arrived and LeeChuang started discussing HC stuff with her.
Clan names and CHEERS:D
Learnt the "Tooki Tooki" game:D
Played "Chucky" with 3 and 4 guns.
FUN FUN + CHALLENGING:D

Tired people slept.
People that slept alot the night before also slept.
People that have nth to do started singing random songs and changing lyrics
Also played stacko and cards.
Lazying about in the afternoon.

WangRui, Erica,Edrea and SwanSer went for their movie at 2 plus.
The rest of us went out to grab smth to eat.
Ended up playing "Pepsi Cola 1 2 3 !!" at E!Hub Level 5 ouside K Box.
It was the Family(5) VS the Guys(5).
It was a fun game.
We won the 1st round but lost the subsequent 2 rounds to the guys:D

Headed downstairs to play at the arcade.
JuBeat!! Basketball!! Car(Daph only. HAHA:D)!!ParaPara!!
My next aim is to PASS a level 4 song for Jubeat:D
Daph and I joined the rest at Foodcourt after we were done with ParaPara.
Some eat some didn't eat.

Went back to slack and play cards/mahjong/stacko/watch tv again.
I had the BEST few games of Bridge with ChangYi, SianLin and WenKai:D

LiYin arrived and people who didn't eat before went out for dinner again:D
Han joined us at the foodcourt.

After that, we went back to bathe and slack off and played games.
Han's reaction to Waygene in "Tooki Tooki" was ABSOLUTELY COMICAL!
"AHHH! MY EARDRUMS!!~" XD
But we managed to sustain the game for quite long this time, so it was really FUN:D
We broke off to play little games like Monopoly, Mahjong and cards.
Some left and some stayed.

DAY3
However, this night round, we were all dead tired.
Most of us slept from 11pm to 7am, w ith alarms ringing at 5am/6am.
It was what you could call a good night's rest after a really long day, to make up for the previous day's lack of sleep:D
LiYin and Han left for attachment and LeeChuang and Ting left for school, while the rest of us just lazed around, half awake.
People who were awake(YeeLing, ChangYi, SianLin,Waygene, WenKai and me) played Bluff and "Old maids" while waiting for WangRui and Joseph to wake up.

Checked out at about 10am.
Breakfast at foodcourt.
Joseph left for home after breakfast.
Wanted to attempt to carry out Grand Plan again...
BUT IT STARTED RAINING:(
So we excecuted the wet weather plan.
The 7 of us camped at my house and played Mahjong (the real tile one, not cards de:D)
I disappeared halfway to return Ariel's jersey.
Played Mahjong till about 3pm.

Left for Sakae Sushi at White Sands.
WangRui left to go home.
Ting joined us at Sakae Sushi.
We ate alot (especially Waygene, who still ate Udon, and YeeLing who was REALLY making her money spent worthwhile by eating Cha Soba and Chawanmushi like nobody's business:D) and crapped alot and Ting cleaned up the vegetables for us.
BLOATED~ *Burp!*

Headed to Popular to buy stuff.
Ting left for Band at 6.36pm.
The rest of us attempted to look for LiYin's presents.
Changed location to TMall.
Finally bought the stuff, after a looooong looooong time:D
Shall not reveal what they are:D

We headed home seperately and this ended our VERY AWESOME CLASS CHALET!:D
(and my VERY AWESOMELY LOOONG POST! Well, I did put a big spoiler in front)

Its now 0752 on 19th of November.

Our new favourite word is "shit", and i dont know how it happened. Theres a weird conversation about shit going on behind me... We all lack sleep so we're hyped up like anything. I LOVE CG14/09! <33!

Its been a wonderful experience so far and im looking forward to having lots more fun! (: Started off with a BBQ and a surprise b'day party for the November babies [except dewi and li yin who unfortunately weren't here] After that we went to bathe and then retired to the room where we did random things like play cards and watch videos.

When we got bored we went out for a night walk around pasir ris to find food and drinks, while some of them snoozed. When we got back after eating, we played a few rounds of murderer! and i've lost all track of time cause i havent slept :D

we're now waiting for a few more people to wake up so we can go out for breakfast... Waygene just mentioned that he's yawned many times in one minute. OH yay! Wenkai is up, so we just have two more to wait for. hahah. i think i'll stop here cause i feel like im crapping already.

I'm really very very very excited for wednesday. [after band pract, that is.] CAUSE OUR CLASS CHALET IS STARTING THEN! (: (: (: we're going to have heaps of fun. people who have cameras please bring, cause ting is very sad that hers is spoilt. though we did manage to hit the 2000 picture mark! :D

ANYWAY! hahah. it was a complete accident that i wasn't in school today okay. stupid me set my phone alarm but forgot to switch it off silent mode, so it didn't ring ): sorry to those whose chemistry worksheet is still with me. ughh. Angie should've kept it with her.

I can't believe this year has passed by so fast. ): it feels like it was just yesterday when i stepped into the container block, being scared of guys and everything. and already we're promoting as a class, moving on to J2 and the big 'A's. Lets treasure the year we have left together [before the 3 of them get whisked off to NS]. cause i'm quite sure it'll fly by just like this year did. time is never enough when you're with awesome friends eh? <3

hello!

heres a little update on the picnic yesterday! edrea, erica, grace, swanser, yeeling, jhin jieh, li yin, sianlin, waygene and wenkai met at tiong bahru mrt station to take the bus to botanic gardens. when we reached, we met angie and dewi near the main gate. wandered into the botanic gardens in search of a nice picnic destination, and saw some swans and tortoises along the way. we managed to find a good shady spot near the 5-dollar note tree, and started our picnic. brenda and daphne joined us a little later, bringing more picnic mats and food (: daphne has this super adorable picnic basket! (:

we played murderer (the squeeze hand version), and ate a lot! after a while, dewi left to meet her friend, TJ067 went to do their filming for project work, and the guys went to play frisbee, while the rest of the girls continued eating and talking. however, dark clouds began to gather as time passed, and we decided to pack up and evacuate before it poured. when we were almost at the busstop, it started to pour, and all of us got wet by the pouring rain. we decided to head over to dhoby ghaut cause there was a direct bus headed that way.

before we left the busstop, leechuang decided to join us. amanda, ariel and han also decided to meet us at dhoby ghaut. daphne and li yin left to go for family steamboats, and the rest of us proceeded to sit at the empty space outside dhobyghaut mrt station [recall pepsicola123 and iceandwater location] to finish up the food and play more squeezehand murderer. when we were full and had partially dried off, we took a tour of plaza singapura, and then ended up sitting outside again. ariel, edrea, erica, swanser left for home. and the rest of us played bangbangchikachika to finish up all the rest of the food and drinks. the hostelers ended up bringing back a bottle of wintermelon something. the rest of us [the usual few (: ] sat there and continued playing till they switched off the lights, then we headed home.

im really encouraged by everyone who turned up today. really, an outing isnt an outing without people attending it, right? (: looking forward to seeing more of you at our next class outing!

yesterday was the very eventful second day of sports carnival! (: even though our female-dominated class had the severe lack of testosterone and male strength, plus the fact that two of the guys were already injured from thursday's inter-PDP games, i think we did a great job. (:

started off the day with Sunny Side Up. i loved our class spirit cause we were all screaming and supporting our friends. well, till some of us had to leave to participate in other things... next was captains ball. though it was rough and stuff, im pretty sure we put up a good strong fight. (:

AND THEN! we did this AWESOME job with tug-o-war! it was so encouraging to see the whole class screaming and jumping around and supporting our super strong, high inertia people! (: especially when they made 5 girls go up against 5 girls from another class, and we beat them in 14s. FOURTEEN SECONDS. like how wonderful, right? (: [i'll upload videos soon, i promise] after that was the more calm table tennis, and on this i shall not comment. hahah.

after the end of all the inter-CG games, we decided to go down to the shooting range to try out shooting air pistols! saw ms sim down there- hahah. it was quite fun luh. though the gun is super heavy...

headed back to the canteen for lunch, and then received phone calls that they had to go back for another round of tug-o-war [cause they're that awesome]. so they left their lunches and went to unleash their strength again. after we were done with lunch, we hung around in the canteen while waiting for the start of the interhouse games

i shall speak from my POV, since there were other events going on at the same time. we were in the hall for badminton, and changyi came back to say that since another house only had one team, there would be a walkover, but names were still required. so we randomly selected guys and girls names from our class, and put them in the walkover team. and then the other house managed to form another team! and here comes the amazing part. the supposed "walkover" team, managed to get 2nd place, earning medals and glory to beta :D it was fun seeing these hidden talents emerging.! (: great job peeps. [oh and by the way, the mixed doubles team consisted waygene and han, and the girls doubles team had erica and jhinjieh. im not sure about the rest cause it was very confusing.]

after badminton, there was supposed to be floorball, but i wasnt around for that cause i had to run off for rehearsal. but what i heard was that they got second place. (: adding to the medal pool for our class, wenkai and han got first place in tennis! [yknow what, i think han is secretly a sportswoman, but she's hiding behind her brains in science council... we all know what to do next time there are sports events yeah?]

not exactly sure what else went on. [this is why people other than the purple font need to come here and do posts!!!] but at around 630pm, we left school for a celebratory dinner!

decided to go down to e-hub's just acia for dinner. there were about 13 of us. amanda, chang yi, cheryl, han, jhin jieh, li yin, sian lin, swan ser, wang rui, waygene, wen kai, yee ling and me! (: it was great fun, and there was generation of a lot of noise... hahah. after dinner we went to do what our class does best. wander around randomly, not knowing what to do. after that we decided to go home cause we were all super tired.

now that sports carnival is over, lets do our best for PW okay! (: GAMBATE!

today was GREAT :D well, after 11am at least, cause yee ling decided to organise an outing!

After the math paper it was time to PARTAYE! well, after seeing ms tan regarding PW things. hahah. at this point, there were eight of us [edrea, erica, lee chuang, li yin, sian lin, swan ser, yee ling and me] took 16 to suntec city and then hung around the city hall area after lagging around not knowing where to go... ended up deciding to book places at sakae sushi in case when we all turned up there wouldn't be anymore space.

went over to city hall to wait for the rest to turn up. chang yi was early! and the rest were late. grace, han and jhinjieh came and then we proceeded over to sakae sushi! :D

shortly after they started us off, dewi and amanda arrived, followed shortly by cheryl and wen kai, wang rui and tseng yi.

eating was fun, but playing and talking was FUNNER :D [and yes, i dont care that theres no such word] oh and chang yi is good at origami. he folded frogs using the greentea packaging!

we wandered around to lose the weight we gained over the 3hrs of eating and talking and playing. and found various cool hidden areas in the city. hahah. we seemed to especially like rooftop gardens.

eventually ended up at suntec city macdonalds, now down to amanda, edrea, grace, han, jhin jieh, lee chuang, sian lin, swan ser, yee ling and me sitting there with our cups of drinks and just talking about the most random things. [this shall be our little secret :X]

we then headed home, with the scholars heading off to take the bus and the rest of us going to take the MRT. our earliest end of outing time! hahah.

now im off to facebook to upload the pictures :D

its three days to our promos, and eight days to the start of our post-promos activities. im looking forward to seeing our class outings resume :D

while i was studying today, i decided to make a comeback, just incase any of you are still reading, and are in need of last minute encouragement.

things may seems really tough now, but hey, lets enjoy these challenges and face them with confidence. all your classmates - all twenty four, are backing you up. so you dont have to be afraid. (:

in life, there are only three things you can do. give in, give up, or give it your all. i hope all of you choose the third option. give it your all. do your best and be accountable to yourself. dont live to regret this okay?

and remember, no matter what happens, 14/09 will always, always, always love you. cause we arent just a civics group. heck, we arent even just friends. we're family. and quote one of my favourite disney shows, 'family means nobody gets left behind, or forgotten.'

Hey awesome people!

Today we had two special events to celebrate.

1st - China's National Day, which our dear CG rep Wang Rui celebrated in song. (: Since our class has people from China, yeah. this is specially for them. Happy National Day! (:

2nd - Childrens' Day! Now this is something more of us can associate with. Its kinda amazing though. The last Childrens' Day celebration i had was in... primary school. But yeah, we're all children of our parents afterall. (: Our teachers were specially nice to us. We've finally reached the end of this really hectic week, and with that, we've reached 17 days away from promos. Strive hard, my dear friends. (:

Always remember that both stumbling blocks and stepping stones are made of the same thing - rocks. Its what you do with these rocks, that ultimately determine what they'd be to you. Turn your stumbling blocks into stepping stones, and make things work for you. I'm sure all the hard work and effort we all put in will pay off in the end.

If everyone wants to see each other for every lesson next year, study hard and get all passes for the H2 subjects. Otherwise, if anyone were to drop to H1, our timetable will get all messy and we won't be able to see each other all the time next year. Ya?

hello again...

since its not likely i'll be able to get anyone else to do this post, i decided to get it done myself before i forget the events of the wonderful monday we had this week.

it started off a normal monday, waking up early, and going to school. what made it special, was the date. 14/09. We had temperature taking in the morning, so we were confined in computer lab 2, and the first thing i remember, was amanda bursting into the room, saying "happy birthday" to everyone.

from there, we had lessons as per normal, all waiting and anticipating the end of the school day. discussed along the way where we would head to after everyone's lessons were over, and finally decided on IKEA, as suggested by daphne and yeeling!

after school the bio remedial class started and the rest of us went for lunch. at 1409hrs, a few of us sent [and received] messages from each other. <3!

it was an interesting study session. and it was productive too! (: we found the people who were still in school [amanda, brenda, edrea, erica, leechuang, liyin, sianlin, swanser, wangrui, wenkai, yeeling], then set off at around 1715hrs. met cheryl at bedok mrt station, then jhinjieh and waygene at tampines mrt station when we reached. ariel and changyi turned up soon after, then we headed out to wait for the shuttle bus over to IKEA. daphne and dewi were waiting for us there [they managed to get us two huge tables! thankyou darlings], and angie and han came a few minutes after we reached. that brought us to our grand total of 21 attendees [a new record!]

when everyone reached, we went to order our food. the meatballs at IKEA never tasted so good. it must have been the great company, and the super happy occasion. (: took many many pictures and talked about everything under the sun. it was great, really.

after we all finished our dinner we took a group picture with the help of a very kind passerby [yes, he volunteered. i didnt even need to ask! (:] and the scholars headed off for the hostel so that they wouldnt get grounded. the rest of us [who have slightly later curfews] took a long walk through IKEA, then decided to head home to rest and prepare for the rest of the week to come.

it was a wonderful day i had, going out with all you awesome people. to grace, joseph, tsengyi and wenya, we really hope you'll be able to join us for future class outings!

P.S. as we prepare for this last sprint towards the end of this school year, whether it be for promos or for project work, i hope all of you will take care of yourselves well and prepare well for all these things coming up. never be afraid to ask for help from the geniuses in our class. i seriously feel so blessed being around all these very smart people, cause they're not only smart, they're also very humble, and very willing to lend a helping hand in anything. okay. this post script is getting long. i'll stop here. today was a truly awesome day.

thanks daphne and yeeling for the wonderful idea to go to IKEA for dinner! i enjoyed the food and atmosphere, and ESPECIALLY, the company this evening, and i hope you all enjoyed it too.

its a new record, 21/25 people turned up! to the four of you who didnt, i hope that you'll be able to make it the next time. the bar has been set really high! its going to be hard to beat it now. (: im glad how things turned out today.

okay i know im a good ten minutes early, but my mum wants me off the computer and into bed, so here goes.

Dearest CG 14/09,

This is the first 14^th of September we can celebrate as a class, and I hope that there'll be many more to come. Its only been a short eight months of knowing each other, but look at us now. From our first class picture, to our first class outing... and to all the moments we've shared. Happiness, sadness and even complete embarrassment. Everytime I think about it I am amazed, over and over again, that I'm part of all this. I don't even see us as a class anymore. We're more of a family, sharing everything.

As we move forward to face the promos which will determine what happens next year, I pray that we'll all put in our 100%, and do our FAMILY proud, by all remaining in 14/09 next year, and bring glory to 14/09. We can achieve! (:

At this point, i'd like to say thank you to every single one of you for being an awesome part of this really awesome family.

an update on yesterday and today...

hahah SLin beat me to it, again. ): nevermind. my post will be above his ANYWAY! hahah.!

yesterday we had an awesome class dinner! i was late. so i dont know the order of appearance. heh. sorry peeps! anyway, there were ten of us! amanda, brenda, cheryl, daphne, leechuang, sianlin, wangrui, wenkai, yeeling and me! [yeah it was supposed to be alphabetical. hahah.] after meeting very late [cause of me. sorry], we walked over to Ehub, and went into Just Acia! its a pretty little place! large food servings, not too pricey, and best of all, free flow of drinks and icecream!

after a wonderful dinner, with the even more wonderful company, we headed up to decide what else to do. decided on pool, but brenda had to leave to attend to other things... ): so we split 5-4, with amanda, daphne, sianlin and yeeling heading over to the arcade [just next door-] and cheryl, leechuang, wangrui, wenkai and me left at the pool table. and yeah, obviously i dont know what happened over at the arcade, so i'll leave that to *someone else* to fill it in.

[okay *someone else* is filling this arcade part in. spammed BishiBashi(sp?) machine, wow-ed by some pros playing the touching screen game(okay i forgot the name sorry hahah) which made us look like total failures LOL. amanda and daphne got 214(or somewhere around there) basketball machine, not bad not bad[claps claps], daphne on the DDR while amanda was entertaining her friends that she saw outside the arcade. and ended off with the 2 of them spamming the para-para machine, when the others came to look for us.][okay i'm not gd at describing events hahah.]

the five of us played this other version of pool. hahah we had to protect our three designated balls. so in the first game wangrui had 1,2,3, wenkai had 4,5,6, leechuang had 7,8,9, cheryl had 10,11,12, and i had 13,14,15. we all sorta had a secret agreement [i forgot what this is, in economics terms.] to go against wenkai, and in the end cheryl won! [check our her victory pose on facebook!] in the second game, wangrui and wenkai switched numbers and the rest of us kept ours. and yeah. the game went on. after that we got a little tired, so we left wangrui and wenkai to play 1-on-1. while we sat on the floor.

after paying up and stuff, we headed over to the arcade to see what the rest were up to. watched amanda and daphne on the para-para-machine thing. they looked cool! i liked the wrist movements. :D hahah. after that we headed out, and amanda went home, but yeeling didnt want to go back yet, so we headed over to white sands [is that what the place is called?] for MIDNIGHT ICECREAM hahah. :D sian lin refused to eat cause its "fattening" hahah. daphne left from there cause she had a ride home [the lucky girl...] and the rest of us rushed for the last train.

we ended up on the second last train. hahah but yes we decided to meet again today to study!

so we came at staggered intervals. people who came in order of appearance - sianlin, wangrui, yeeling, leechuang. studied till around 12ish, then breaked for lunch. shortly after lunch [infact, sianlin hadn't even finished...] someone came to chase us away ): so we got up and went over to expo coffeebean to continue studying. its a nice conducive place! wangrui had an expresso shot thing! it smelt really concentrated... hahah and basically, yeah, we just studied. nothing much else to say of that right? hahah.

everyone, please do take care of yourselves and be healthy when we have to be back in school yeah? i know i've been spreading germs rapidly :X and im really sorry if i've caused any of you to fall sick.

keep your 14th of september free okay? its like our class day, and it ought to be really special for all of us yeah? :D especially our dear hostelers who havent been able to make it for many of our class outings.

in the meantime, enjoy your holidays and remember to balance out everything! dont keep mugging. must take some time out to destress. and also sleep more! (:

Okay, as the title implies, this is a small plan that I thought of:

Date: preferbably 16/11 - 18/11 (after OP, is my date correct, someone cross-refer please.)

Well, I thought this would be easier, since it is the nearest to Pasir Ris MRT station already, unlike Aloha Loyang/Changi, which is like super far from the MRT station.

But then one problem might be that the room would be very small. But then I firgured that it wouldnt be too big a problem if not too many are staying over.

Also, be prepared to pay around... $20-$25? The cost is at $210 per night, per room, so what everyone will have to pay will depend on how many people are going.[which is = more people = lesser to pay for everyone] And also, if we are going to have a BBQ, then of course, fees would have to be higher.

Any comments and opinions are appreciated, lol.

[Edit 1: Okay I might try to get Costa Sands Pasir Ris, as it is alot cheaper than Costa Sands Downtown East. But then there isnt any dates available, alot people are booking that chalet as well. The rooms for Costa Sands Pasir Ris around 16/11 to 23/11 are all fully booked already.]

i'm a little too discouraged to look at my group's WR at the moment, so i'm here for a quick stress-relief post.

i know the things we heard today probably sounded really horrible, especially to those of us who put in lots of effort into the whole report, just to have it all thrown back at us, with the question "you call this pride in your work?" yeap, i know exactly how that feels...

but i'm sure, my friends, at the end of the day, we'll do just fine. like so many people have said before, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. so don't give up on anything okay? (: remember always that ting loves you, and will ALWAYS love you.

i guess by now all of you would have received the little encouragement slip from me. i hope it helps! its just a while more to the promos, and i'm sure with each other's help, we'll all pull through just fine.
